The Trees That Keep Us

There is a tree on my property that I find myself returning to again and again.
Sometimes I walk to it with purpose. Other times, I end up there without even realizing I was headed in that direction.
When life feels especially noisy, I slip off my shoes, let the grass cool my feet, and simply stand beneath its branches for a while.
The tree never asks questions.
It never hurries me.
It doesn't expect me to have everything figured out before I arrive.
It simply stands.
Steady.
Season after season.
Trees have a quiet way of reminding us that strength doesn't always have to be loud. They bend with storms instead of fighting every gust of wind. They lose their leaves without believing they've lost themselves. They rest through winter, trusting that spring will return in its own time.
There is wisdom in that.
Perhaps we, too, are allowed to bend without breaking.
Perhaps we don't have to bloom every day.
Perhaps resting is not the opposite of growing, but a necessary part of it.
Nature has never expected perfection.
Only presence.
This week, I invite you to spend a few quiet moments outdoors if you're able.
Find a favorite tree.
Sit on a porch.
Walk through a nearby park.
Or simply stand barefoot in the grass and notice what you've been too busy to see.
Listen to the birds.
Watch the wind move through the leaves.
Take one slow, deep breath.
The world has a remarkable way of reminding us that we belong to something much older... and much steadier... than the worries we carry.
May this week offer you a quiet place to breathe, reflect, and simply be.

This Week's Invitation
Spend five quiet minutes outside this week.
Leave your phone behind if you can.
Find a tree, a garden, or even a patch of sky.
Simply notice what you see, hear, and feel.
Sometimes the smallest pauses become the moments that restore us the most.
Until next Thursday...
Walk gently,
